Memory Verse: “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. Jude 9
1. This chapter begins in the third year of the reign of Cyrus King of Persia (535 B.C.) Read Daniel 10:1. Daniel was in mourning, because of the Vision of God gave him the prophecies. We see him here in Daniel 10:2 “In those days I Daniel was _________ __________ full _________.”. He was fasting and praying for His people in Palestine.
2. Daniel was down by the River Hiddekel (or Tigris) Daniel 10:4 “And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;” While there Daniel sees a certain man. How does this man look? Daniel 10:5, 6 “Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man __________ in ___________, whose loins were __________ with fine __________ of Uphaz: 6His ________ also was like the _________, and his _________ as the appearance of __________, and his _________ as _________ of _________, and his arms and his ________ like in colour to ___________ _________, and the _________ of his words like the voice of a ____________.”
3. Who could this certain man be? For the answer we need to go to Revelation 1:13 – 15. “And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the _________ of _________, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a __________ ________. His head and his __________ were _________ like wool, as white as snow; and his ___________ were as a ___________ of __________; and his _____________ like unto fine ____________, as if they burned in a furnace; and his _________ as the sound of _______ __________.” We see here this is talking about The Son of Man which is Jesus. When we compare these texts to those in Daniel, it has to be Jesus Christ. It was Jesus that came to Daniel, this time in vision. Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear the sign of the _______ of _________ in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” This shows that Jesus is also called The Son of Man. What happened to Daniel while in vision?
4. We see that Daniel is now in vision, again. Daniel 10:7 “And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great ___________ fell upon them, so that they ___________ to ___________ themselves.” What happened to the men with Daniel? Daniel 10:8 “Therefore I was ___________ _________, and saw this great vision, and there ____________ _______ strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no _______________.” Daniel 10:9 “Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a ________ _________ on my face, and my __________ __________ the ____________.” Daniel 10:10 “And, behold, an _________ ___________ me, which ________ me upon my __________ and upon the ___________ of my _______________.”
5. Daniel was told he was G___________ B____________ and to U____________W___________ he stood Daniel on his feet. See Daniel 10:11. “And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.”
6. The seventy years was almost up and yet God’s people were still in Babylon. This was a great concern to Daniel for it was time for the 70 years of prophecy given in Jeremiah to be up. (Jeremiah 29:10) We see that while Daniel was in vision, it was similar to what happened to John in vision, in Revelation 1:17 “And when I saw him, I ________ at his feet ______ ___________. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, ________ _______; I am the first and the last:” Then Jesus speaks to Daniel he told him to write the things he had seen in the vision. It was recorded, fur us today.
7. In Daniel 10:13, the angel said, The Prince of Persia has withstood me twenty one days, but Michael came to help me. For twenty one days the angel had worked on the heart of The Prince of Persia, but he withstood me. “Moses passed through death, but Michael came down and gave him life before his body had seen corruption. Satan tried to hold the body, claiming it as his; but Michael resurrected Moses and took him to heaven. Satan railed bitterly against God, denouncing Him as unjust in permitting his prey to be taken from him; but Christ did not rebuke His adversary, though it was through his temptation that the servant of God had fallen. He meekly referred him to His Father, saying, "The Lord rebuke thee.” Early Writings 164 “What great honor is shown to Daniel by the Majesty of heaven! He comforts His trembling servant and assures him that his prayer has been heard in heaven. In answer to that fervent petition the angel Gabriel was sent to affect the heart of the Persian king. The monarch had resisted the impressions of the Spirit of God during the three weeks while Daniel was fasting and praying, but heaven's Prince, the Archangel, Michael, was sent to turn the heart of the stubborn king to take some decided action to answer the prayer of Daniel.” Sanctified Life 51 Daniel 10:13 “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, ____________, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:21 “But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but __________ your __________.”
8. While we are on the subject of “Michael your prince”; let us look at the rest of the text in the Bible that calls Christ, Michael. Jude 9 “Yet __________ the _________, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” Michael is Christ; for He is the only one, which can raise the dead to life.
9. What does 1 Thessalonians 4:16 say, about Christ’s return? Will it be a silent coming? 1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the LORD himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the ___________ of the ______________, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ __________ ___________ first:” Who will be raiesed? (Last Part)

10. We will look ahead to Daniel 12:1 “And at that time shall ____________ stand up, the ______________ ____________ which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” At that time, he delivers his people. We will talk more on this text in the lesson on Daniel 12.
11. John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the ___________, and the ___________: he that believeth in _______, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” Read the story of the death of Moses in Deuteronomy 34. The Lord told him to go up on Mount Nebo, and the Lord showed him the Promised Land. But because of his sin of striking the rock he could not cross over into the Promised Land. He died on Mount. Nebo, and the Lord buried him in a valley and no one knew where he was buried. So in Jude 9 The Lord (Christ) comes to raise him for the dead, but Satan was there and said No! You can’t do that! He sinned, he is mine! But Moses was right with God when he died. So Michael the Archangel raised Moses and took him to heaven, where he lives today. He was the first to be resurrected and he is there to show us that Christ can do that for us also, when he comes back for His church. Notice in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 That Christ is called Lord.
12. We see in verse 16, Daniel called him what? Daniel 10:16 “And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, ________ _______ __________, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.” This is another name, Lord for Jesus used at times in the Bible. Daniel is so over come, we find him with his face to the ground. In verse 15 he becomes dumb, verse 17 he has no strength and no breath left in him.
13. Let us look at Daniel 10:17. “For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this _______ ________? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there ________ ________ in __________.” Why, was no breath in Daniel? Read article below. We know that one of the things that take place when one is in vision is. They do not breathe while in vision. “Some of the instruction found in these pages was given under circumstances so remarkable as to evidence the wonder-working power of God in behalf of His truth. Sometimes while I was in vision, my friends would approach me, and exclaim, "Why, she does not breathe!" Placing a mirror before my lips, they found that no moisture gathered on the glass. It was while there was no sign of any breathing that I kept talking of the things that were being presented before me. These messages were thus given to substantiate the faith of all, that in these last days we might have confidence in the Spirit of Prophecy.” 3 Select Messages 38, 39
“The testimonies either bear the signet of God or that of Satan. A good tree cannot bring forth corrupt fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. By their fruit ye shall know them.” 5 Testamonies 98
14. One like the appearance of a man touched Daniel and strengthened him. Daniel 10:20 goes with verse 13 of that chapter. Daniel was told of the struggle behind the scenes o human history. How the powers of darkens there at the palace, of the Persian King. And after three weeks Michael or Christ himself, came down to the aid of angel Gabriel and victory was gained for the people of God. Daniel 10:20 “Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? And now will _____ _____________ to ___________ with the _________ of ___________: and when I am gone forth, lo, the __________ of ___________ shall come.” Christ was working on the heart of the prince of Persia to make a decree for Israel to return to Jerusalem. I will work on the heart of the leader of Grecia to come down and take over Persia and set up Grecia. This we learned in Daniel 2 would be the third kingdom of the earth.
15. Who was the Prince of Persia? Daniel 10:13 (Last Part) “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the __________ of Persia.” The Prince of Persia was the King of Persia.
Who is the power of darkness? Ephesians 6:11, 12 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the _________ of the ___________ of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” So what are the powers of darkness? As we see here in Daniel 10, that Satan and Christ both were moving upon the mind of the Persian King, neither could force him. Human free will is one of the greatest gifts given us from God. Which side will win? It depends upon our choice. Which “Prince” we ally our self with? We can choose to go with the “Prince of Peace” or the “Prince of Darkness” . In the end the choice is ours.
